چکیده

is identical with that found in the region of the active center of bovine trypsin, which includes histidine-29 and histidine-46, except that a serine residue (asterisk) replaces a tyrosine residue in the bovine enzyme. The sequence of one of the two other histidine-containing peptides bears some similarity to the sequence surrounding histidine-79 of bovine trypsin. The lack of structural homology in this region of the molecule between bovine trypsin and bovine chymotrypsin would suggest, however, that this histidine residue is of little functional importance. The 4th histidine residue of porcine trypsin (for which there is no equivalent in the bovine enzyme) appears to lill in a deletion which had been postulated as being necessary in order to demonstrate the structural homology between bovine trypsin and bovine chymotrypsin.

The amino acid sequence around the active-site cysteine and histidine residues of stem bromelain.

Stem bromelain that had been irreversibly inhibited with 1,3-dibromo[2-(14)C]-acetone was reduced with sodium borohydride and carboxymethylated with iodoacetic acid. After digestion with trypsin and alpha-chymotrypsin three radioactive peptides were isolated chromatographically. The amino acid sequences around the cross-linked cysteine and histidine residues were determined and showed a high de...

Pepsin Inhibitors from Ascaris Zumbricoides

Extracts of the body walls of the adult Ascaris lumbricoides var. suis inhibit pepsin between pH 1 and 6. Four inhibitors of pepsin were isolated and purified as follows. The crude extract of Ascaris was incubated at 37” and pH 2.0 for 75 min. The pepsin-inhibiting activity was obtained in a fraction precipitated at 0.65 saturation with ammonium sulfate at pH 5.35, and sequentially chromatograp...

Fasciola gigantica of Ruminants: The phylogenetic analysis based on COX1 sequences

BACKGROUND: Fasciola species are parasitic trematode with world wide distribution that infects wild and domesticated herbivores, particularly ruminants. The aim of the present study was to investigate the intra species variations of F. gigantica, from goats and buffalos isolates in two common geographic climates of Iran. METHODS: Fasciola species were collected from goat, buffalo, sheep, and ca...

Two trypsin inhibitors from porcine pancreatic juice.

Two trypsin inhibitors of the Kazal type have been isolated from porcine pancreatic juice. They have been prepared in 65% yield by gel titration on Sephadex G-75 at pH 8.1 in the presence of lo-*M diisopropyl phosphofluoridate, tiltration through diethylaminoethyl cellulose at pH 9, and equilibrium chromatography on sulfoethyl Sephadex at pH 5.4. The major component, Porcine Inhibitor I, has a ...

Phylogenetic and sequence analysis of the growth hormone gene of two sturgeons, Huso huso and Acipenser Gueldenstaedtii

In this study, the cDNA Growth Hormone (cGH) of the Belugasturgeon (Husohuso) and Russian sturgeon (Acipensergueldenstaedtii) were cloned and sequenced, and phylogenetic relationships were examined using nucleic acid and amino acid sequences. The nucleotide sequence of the Beluga GH has an open reading frame of 645 nucleotides encoding a protein 214 amino acid residues. The signal peptide cleav...
